Four students did an exceptional job representing SJASD at the 57th Annual Canada-Wide Science Fair this year.
(Pictured from the left) Students Noah D. (Sturgeon Heights), Sameer B. (Lincoln)., Shanaya M. (Sturgeon Heights) and Tharinda K. (Sturgeon Heights) travelled to Ottawa, Ontario the week of May 12-19 to defend their 2018 Science Fair projects. These four students were selected based on specific criteria evaluated by judges at our Divisional Fair held on April 4. At Nationals, the students received helpful and positive feedback from the judges and showcased their projects alongside 500 students from across Canada.
A huge congratulations to our four 2018 Canada-Wide Science Fair participants on a job well done and an extended congratulations to Sameer B. who brought home a bronze medal as he earned a Junior Excellence Award for his project, "Coping with Diabetes."
Lastly, a great big thank you to our two teacher chaperones who supported our students throughout the event this year, Mr. Fisher-Smith and Mme Lachance. Hats off to this fantastic team for making us proud in SJASD!
