Student Owned Devices (per policy IJNDC-R)
As part of our BYOD (bring your own device) initiative, students are permitted and encouraged to use student owned devices as part of their school day with the understanding that such use is restricted to supporting curricular pursuits in the classroom. Students are permitted network access only to the secure wirelessnetwork using their Division supplied access credentials. Students are not permitted to connect personal devices to the wired network. Students accessing the internet on personal devices using the Division WiFi network will be provided with filtered internet access. Beyond this safety measure, parents should be aware that the School Division will not be responsible for supervising student internet access on personal devices outside of in-class use.
Internet Use Policies
use policies for information technology access are in effect in the St.
James Assiniboia School Division. Students and parents should read and
be familiar with these acceptable use policies. All students accessing
the Internet from Divisional facilities must have signed and turned in
the Student Internet Acceptable Use Agreement and Parent Permission Form
which is handed out at the start of the school year. Use of the
computers in the school with or without a signed form is subject to the
rules in the Acceptable Use Policy as all students are provided with the
information at various points throughout the year.
