SJASD is hiring Casual Swimming Instructors to deliver swimming and lifesaving lessons as part of our Division-wide, Grade 3 Swim Program.
The program teaches students how to swim and how to be safe in the water.
Classes take place Monday/Tuesday/Wednesday mornings and Thursday afternoons at pools within Division boundaries. Instructors don't need to be available for all classes.
The program is relaunching this year after a COVID-19-related hiatus but had been operating for decades previously.
Certifications currently accepted include Red Cross Water Safety, Lifesaving Society Swim for Life or YMCA Swim.
SJASD is also recruiting Swim Program Volunteers with swim experience to support instructors.
Both Swimming Instructors and Swim Program Volunteers must complete a Police Record Check with Vulnerable Sector Search and Child Abuse Registry Check.
