​Learning is about to blast off in SJASD! Here's what you need to know to get ready for the start of school, and prepare for cell phone use restrictions.

The Lineup
Here's the lineup for the first week of school:

• Mon. Sept. 2 - Labour Day (no school)
• Tues. Sept. 3 - Inservice (no school).
• Wed. Sept. 6 & 7 - Early & Middle Years Triad Conferences. Plus first day of school for Senior Years students.
• Fri. Sept. 8 - First day of school for Early & Middle Years students.

The Board Office is closed on September 2, open from noon to 4:30 p.m. on September 3, and resumes regular office hours of 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. on September 4, 2024.​

Cell Phone Use in Schools

The Division sent a letter to all parents/caregivers on Thursday, August 29, 2024 providing details on the new limits on cell phone use. If you haven't done so already, please familiarize yourself with these new guidelines, which come into effect on September 1, 2024 as per provincial requirements.

Senior Years: School Administrators from all five high schools are sending a follow-up communication via email to all parents regarding school-level implementation of these new requirements on Friday, August 30, 2024.

Early and Middle Years: School Administrators will send a similar email communication to all parents on Tuesday, September 3, 2024.

Please make sure to review these instructions carefully. Any questions can be directed to your school administration.
