Attend Virtual Workshop on Tech and Brain Development

November 22, 2024

StayingWell_Digital_Wellness_square_social.jpgThe Staying Well Workshops hosted by the St. James-Assiniboia School Division return this year with three impactful evening sessions designed to address crucial topics surrounding the mental, emotional, and behavioral well-being of children, teens, and adults.

The first session, taking place on Tuesday, November 26, will be led by Dr. M. Phelps and A. McKiel. They will explore the significant impact that digital technology—such as smartphones, social media, and other devices—has on school performance, emotional development, and overall mental health. The session will delve into research that has influenced schools to reconsider and limit digital technology usage in educational settings. Importantly, this free, virtual workshop will provide caregivers with practical strategies to enhance digital wellness for not only their children but also teens and adults, creating a more balanced relationship with technology in everyday life.
