The St. James-Assiniboia School Division is once again inviting Newcomer families in the Division to attend an information evening to help them connect with resources available in the community.
The SJASD Newcomer Information Evening takes place from 4:30 p.m. to 6 p.m. on Wednesday, May 14 in the Hedges Middle School Gymnasium.
Any Newcomer families that have arrived in Manitoba in the last two years (on or after May 2023) are encouraged to attend.

Where: Hedges Middle School Gymnasium, 369 Fairlane Avenue, Winnipeg
Details: There is no charge or registration required to attend this event.
Refreshments and bannock will be available to attendees.
Booths will be set up and staffed by several organizations participating in the event, including:
- Family Dynamics
- Winnipeg Regional Health Authority
- Newcomers Employment & Education Development Services Inc. (N.E.E.D.S. Inc.)
- Klinic Community Health
- Winnipeg Library
- Peaceful Village
- SJASD English as an Additional Language Team
- Stevenson-Britannia Adult Learning Centre
- SJASD Swim Program
This is the second year SJASD is offering this programming to the school community.
