We would like to thank caregivers for their understanding and cooperation following today’s weather-related school closures.
The decision to close all schools is rare and takes place in collaboration with all six Metro school divisions based on clear guidelines and protocols that place paramount importance on the safety and security of all staff and students.
While we plan to reopen schools to staff and students on Friday, December 19, 2025, and resume busing services, we must again follow our protocols to ensure that weather and road conditions are favourable to the safe operation of our schools.
Should poor weather conditions develop into tomorrow, SJASD caregivers will be notified of any busing cancellations, or changes to school reopenings via School Messenger. We will aim to notify impacted parties by 7 a.m., but will continue to respond to emergent and rapidly changing situations based on the safety of everyone involved.
