Hello Bruce Families!

This may be the last Bruce News of the year so let me start by saying Thank You! to all parents and guardians of our Bruce Bears. Thank you for raising and supporting our students on their educational journeys, especially through another year of this pandemic. Thank you for your assistance and understanding in the educational process.

We wish all the best to staff who will be leaving us after the year ends: Mrs. Waters, Mrs. McGowan and Ms Chrabaszcz. You have touched the hearts and minds of staff and students and you will be missed!

Tickets are being sold for an opportunity to pie a teacher in the face. Yes, you read that right and no, you cannot participate, students only. Students can buy a ticket for $1 at lunch in the front foyer and place it into the bag with the teacher’s name who they want to pie. Every teacher is participating so a lot of whipped cream is going to be used for a good cause. Proceeds are going towards Black Bear Rescue Manitoba.

This Wednesday is our Beach Volleyball tournament, weather permitting. If we receive too much rain  tonight, the courts at Morse Place may be unusable even if we have good weather Wednesday. If that is the case, we will try to host it here at the school in the field. The money we would save on busses will be used for a school-wide BBQ of a hotdog and a drink.

Speaking of Food, this Friday will be the final Pizza Day for the year. Please remember that orders are due by Thursday morning. $2 for each slice of pizza and $1 for a can of pop.

The grade 8 parents are organizing a year-end farewell dance for all grade 8 students and for grade 8s only. Tickets are $20 and will be on sale at lunch at the school next week.

Here are upcoming dates:

  • June 15 – Bruce Beach Volleyball
  • June 17 – Pie in the Face Day (period 7 & 8)
