March 19, 2020

As you are aware, all classes have been suspended across Manitoba until further notice from the government.  Teachers have been reaching out to you about their plans and will continue to do so as we receive more direction from the Province and our Division Board Office.

School work is being provided through digital platforms for students to continue to learn from their homes.   There is a link on the Bruce web page under the tab “Parents and Community" where parents and students can find their learning materials.   Look for the link titled “Virtual Classrooms"  or click on the following link:  (https://www.sjasd.ca/school/bruce/Parents/virtualclassrooms/Pages/default.aspx#/=)

This web page contains timetables for all student groups, directions for how to use Showbie and then materials for each class and/or the Showbie Code to use. If your child is in 7B, they will have all of their teacher's directions and materials grouped together to make it easier to follow.

While much of the material is digital in nature, paper versions of the work (where appropriate) will also be available for those who have limited access to the digital platform.   If your child does not have or has limited access to the digital platform, please email your child's teacher to request a paper version of the work,

In order to follow the provincial directive to practice distance and isolation, staff have been granted the option to support student learning from the school or from home as is appropriate.  As such, families should be prepared for limited access to staff, though everyone is available through email or by leaving a message on the school's general line.
