Hello Bruce Families!

I hope this email finds you warm inside and enjoying the end of a long weekend.

The weather is still looking cold for the beginning of the week so please make sure students are dressed for the weather. We will be going outside for PE and lunch if it is -24 degrees with the wind chill or warmer.

A call from the school went out to parents about outstanding student fees – it is late in the year for a reminder, but we were trying to recognize that the start of the school may have been difficult as we all adjusted to the pandemic and being back in school. Thank you to those families who have remitted fees.

Tuesday is an early dismissal day. The division has reinstated that practice as of this month.

Registration forms have now gone home for all students, with the grade 8s receiving theirs on Thursday/Friday. Ms Waters and I met with the students to talk about the registration process, the course selection sheets and to give students an idea of what high school is like. We hope it alleviated some anxieties. Please click the links below to find each high school’s course description page:

Students have been given the registration form for their catchment school and that must be signed and returned by the 19th. . If you have added your name to the waitlist for an out-of-catchment school (https://bit.ly/socreg2021) you must still return the provided registration form and will be notified of the status of your request June 18. Virtual information evenings will take place in March, date TBD. Transportation requests for purchased seats will be available in the next school year.

Have a great week everyone!

Dan
