Hello Bruce Families,

The recent announcement of COVID vaccines available for our grade 6 students has been met with some excitement and relief, but has also raised a question or two, particularly around the timing of vaccine doses. 

Public health is advising parents to allow a two week window between the double dose of vaccines scheduled for the 29th ( Meningococcal and Hepatitis B AND HPV) and the COVID -19 vaccine. The wait period is to allow public health to deal with any possible rare side effects and determine the cause. 

At this point, there is no chance to reschedule the clinic based out of the school. If you are unsure about which vaccine to schedule first and which one to wait for two weeks, the message from our public health nurse is to prioritize the needs of your family to make the decision or consult your pediatrician for advice.
