To help keep our community informed, the St. James-Assiniboia School Division will be tracking COVID-19-related absences as they are submitted by parents. To track COVID-related absences, parents now have a choice to indicate a COVID-related absence when entering a student absence on School Messenger/Safe Arrival and/or when calling an absence into the school office. 

 COVID related absences include any of:

·         COVID related illness (the individual is symptomatic and isolating)

·         isolation related to awaiting results of COVID tests

·         household isolation

This code is an absence code, indicating that the student is not attending school for the day/class. We will be using this code to collate weekly data on absenteeism related to COVID for school and community notification processes.
