Hello Bruce Families!
Happy Father’s Day to all the dads out there, we hope this day is amazing for you and your family.
This will be the final week for ticket sales to the Grade 8 Farewell Dance on June 25. Tickets can be purchased in the office at lunch time for $20 and are available to Bruce students only.
Monday will a Nacho-Average-Monday! meaning we will be serving up 250 servings of nachos at snack time for all staff and students. Thank you to the Parent Advisory Council for providing the funds.
We have sourced out our very own Bruce Middle School Jibbitz! What is a jibbitz? Crocs owners know them a charm that can be added to Crocs sandals/clogs to personalize shoe ware. They are available in the canteen for $2.
This Wednesday will be our last Blast activity in the gym to determine the winner of the Bear Cup. All four dens are pretty close in points.
Thursday afternoon is the transition day across the division as the grade 5 students will be going to their prospective middle school and the grade 8s to high school. Our grade 6 students will be paired with a grade 5 buddy to help show them around and introduce them to the staff and building. The grade 8s will be dismissed directly after their high school tour at 2:30.
There are more staff changes in store for Bruce in the next school year. It is with heavy hearts that we say farewell to Mrs. Dasilva, Mrs. Woodcroft and Mrs. McCasin who will be leaving the Bruce Bears at the end of the year. In their stead we welcome Mr. Kehler from Lincoln and Mr. Templeton from Lakewood. Another one and a half teachers will be hired this coming week.
Please ask your child if they have returned all of their library books. We will send a follow up email directly to those with unreturned books.
Finally, if your family is planning on an earlier start to the summer holidays, please let the office know so we can change your child’s attendance and prevent nuisance phone calls home.
