We will be holding our Holiday Sale Dec 16 - 19, 2024. This event was started over 10 years ago to ensure all students would be able to buy a special holiday gift for members of their family at a very reasonable cost (most items are $0.50 to $2.00 each). In order to make this event successful we are asking for some help from all the families at Bruce middle School. Donations are needed, so please look around your house to see if there are any new or gently used items that just need a loving home. All donations can be dropped off to the guidance room each morning. Some suggestions are toys, books, games, puzzles, Christmas decorations, picture frames, candles, soaps, kitchen knickknacks etc. Monetary donations will also be much appreciated. Please bring items in between December 2nd and Dec 13th. All proceeds from the event will be used for families in need at Bruce Middle School. Starting December 2nd, our Leadership Members will be selling a variety of Candy Canes daily during locker break and at lunch break for $0.50 each until we run out of candy canes. All proceeds from the event will also be used for families in need at Bruce Middle School.
Once again this year, our Family of Schools are providing hampers for families of our schools. Bruce Middle School is collecting canned food for this event. Cans can be dropped off at the school’s office. Our goal is to collect 550 cans before December 6th, 2024.
Transportation has advised us that we have a few purchase bus seats available on our morning bus only, for families who were wanting to purchase a seat. The link will be posted on our website when it is available. We will also send an email advising when the link is open for you to complete your application. Purchase bus seats are $70/month for 2 ways and $35.00/month for 1 way. Payments are due prior to the 1st of each month.
Now that the weather is getting colder, and snow is falling, students should be dressing appropriately for the weather (toque, mitts, jacket, boots, ski-pants etc). Students will be going outside during the second part of the lunch break unless the wind chill is -25 degrees Celsius or colder.
Term 1 Report Cards will be sent by email on Wednesday, November 27th at 3:30 pm.
Our November Success Assembly is scheduled for Friday, November 28th. If your child will be receiving an award during this Assembly, you will be contacted by the school so you may attend if you choose to.
Early Dismissal days in December are Tuesday, December 3rd and Tuesday, December 17th. Students will be dismissed ½ hour early at 3:00 pm
The next Spirit Week will be held December 16th to Dec 20th, along with some fun activities for students.
Friday, December 20th will be the last day of classes before the Winter Break (December 23rd to January 3rd). Classes will resume on Monday, January 6th, 2025.
