The 2018 Wonder and Exploration Fair

January 31, 2018

Science news story.jpgIt is time for our 2018 Wonder and Exploration Fair! It is an excellent opportunity for students to investigate, learn, discuss, and practice their skills. All students in grades four and five will be submitting a 'WE Fair' project. Grades 4 and 5 will be working on their projects during class time, although we strongly encourage students to also work at home. Students are able to work in pairs, as long as it is with someone from their own classroom.

We would like to extend an invitation to all families, groups, and individuals to join in the fun of the 2018 Wonder and Exploration fair by submitting a project!

We will be going forward with three project options: Heritage Project, Launch cycle, or Science Experiment.

The Project Fair will be held on Wednesday March 14th in the Afternoon. Set up will be on Tuesday March 13th (during class time). The school will have backboards for the projects available for $2.00; however, a backboard is not a requirement. Parents and Guardians will have an opportunity to view the 'WE Fair' projects during Student-Led conferences on March 15th and 16th.

Our awards system is based off the six C's; Collaboration, Citizenship, Character, Communication, Creativity, and Critical Thinking. Projects submitted will be awarded the 'C' which best represents their work or process. If you do not wish to spend time explaining and showcasing your project to our expert scientists you do not have to!

Family information packs will be sent home on February 5th to grades four and five, and upon request of grades k-3 students or families who wish to participate.

If you have any questions or concerns, please don't hesitate to contact Ms. Downes, Mrs. McMaster, Mrs. Choboter, or Mr. Boyko.
