Today in Social Studies, Mr Henderson's class had the opportunity to experience a portion of life on a homestead in Manitoba! Students were given some whipping cream and a pinch of salt. After combining the ingredients in a mason jar, students needed to shake the jars for about 20 minutes. This separates the butter from the buttermilk! Once the buttermilk was removed and the butter was "washed" it is ready to go! Students learned homestead life can be difficult but rewarding at the same time.
