To our families of Golden Gate,

Happy Friday everyone! Hope this email finds you well. This was a very busy week, but a very exciting week as well with lots going on. And here we find ourselves already, going into the last few days!

Lockers

We will be doing a locker clean up today so students can bring some of the larger items home that have been in their lockers way too long back home to make locker clean out on Tuesday easier. Students can leave behind their writing utensils and paper for the last couple of days. They will return their locks on the last day to continue to ensure secured storage for their cell phone. If parents/guardians are going to excuse their child earlier, please ensure arrangements are communicated with the school and locker responsibilities completed.

News from the Library

We are requesting any students with library books to return them to the library as soon as possible.

News from the Music Room

Please return your rental instrument as soon as possible.

 Class Placements

Our school information packages will be sent out electronically to our families on

June 29th. Your child's class placement and homeroom teacher for the 2023-24 School Year will be included with this information. We ask that your respect and are supportive of the placement.

Middle Years Report Card

Report Cards are a “snapshot" of the learning progress of our students. The primary purpose of the Manitoba report card is to formally communicate to parents, giving a snapshot of the learning progress at certain points in time, valuable information on their children's growth and achievement as learners as well as an extended ability to promote improved learning.

All report cards will be sent out electronically June 29. If you require a hard copy, please contact the office.

 Thank You

We would like to express our gratitude and thanks to our staff members that will not be with us next year. All the sincerest best to Ms. Chrabaszcz, Ms. Bilous, Ms. Martin, Ms. Kaur, Ms. Neufeld, Ms. Paolucci, Mr. Londe, and Mr. Palatty.

Volunteers

If there are parents/guardians who will be volunteering next year in driving other students to and from school activities, please let us know so we can provide the information for our Volunteer Checks. If you have already completed it, it does not have to be done again as long as it is active. These volunteer checks take up to 6 weeks to complete, so we are hopeful that we can begin the process early if you think you might be driving. There is no cost to our volunteers in completing the paperwork. The Volunteer Check information is available at our office. Thank you in advance for your continued support.

Farewell Grade 8's

We had a wonderful experience with our Grade 8's as we enjoyed Camp Manitou as our Farewell Year End Field Trip with lots of laughter, fun and good times!  We would like to thank the grade 8's for making our school such a special place to come to learn. The three years together are such important years, and we are excited for this group of students as they embark on their next chapter of their educational journey!

All the best to our grade 8's, go out and make us all proud! We will miss you! Let's enjoy our last week!
