Orange Shirt Day is recognized nationally on September 30th and will occur at Lincoln and schools throughout our division and beyond on Thursday, Sept. 29th. These days are meant to honour the Indigenous students who were sent away to residential schools in Canada and to recognize the harm that the residential school system did to Indigenous children's sense of self-esteem and well-being. As our staff and students begin planning for our school wide events, we wish to welcome the ideas, perspectives and participation from our families and community members. If you or a community connection is interested in sharing a story, artifact(s), discussion, or performance, please contact the school office and we will be happy to incorporate your contributions.
