LogoHeader.pngDear Families of SJASD,

I’d like to start by thanking our families and staff for your ongoing patience and understanding. We acknowledge that the recent announcement to suspend classes came without much notice, and we appreciate your cooperation. We know this is an unprecedented situation in Manitoba, but it was made clear that the normal operations of school divisions will continue, just in a different way. This means our schools will continue to provide education to your children, despite the challenges we know exists.

Teachers have received direction this week from their principals around developing plans that will allow your child to progress their learning at home. Student work could be available now, but certainly by Tuesday, March 24. This may include online learning (e.g. SeeSaw at Early Years, Showbie at Middle Years, and Edmodo at Senior Years) or take-home learning packages that can be picked up at the school. Each school will communicate their opening hours for material pick up and drop off via School Messenger.

As we develop these plans, we thank you in advance for the parent/guardian support that will be provided. A schedule in your home that sets aside time for your child to work on their studies would provide structure. Please contact your children’s teachers via email or the school should you have any questions. Teachers will remain available via email during what would be the regular school hours.

Please make sure you are cleared to enter the school, based on the requirements outlined by the Chief Provincial Public Health Officer before entering. Do not enter a school building if:

• You have travelled outside of Canada in the past 14 days

• You have flu-like symptoms, a fever and/or cough

If you are not cleared to enter the school, please call the office so we can make other arrangements. You will only have access to the pick-up/drop-off station. Thank you for your cooperation on this matter and your help in reducing the risk of spreading COVID-19.

We realize many of you will have questions related to future events and activities, and we don’t have answers at this time. We are committed to keeping you updated as we make these decisions. Of course, if you have questions that require an immediate answer, feel free to contact your school principal by phone or email.

We are committed to ensuring that St. James-Assiniboia students have a successful school year. Please know that the academic and social and emotional well-being of our students will continue to be our priority.

Stay safe and well,

Mike Wake, Acting Superintendent

St. James-Assiniboia School Division

Martes, Marso 24. Katulad ng online edukasyon (e.g. SeeSaw at Early Years, Showbie at
Middle Years, and Edmodo at Senior Years) at take-home packages, na pwede kunin sa
eskwelahan.

Magkakaroon kayo ng access sa drop off/pick up station.

well-being, ang pangunahin naming prayoridad.

Manatiling ligtas at maayos,

Mike Wake, Acting Superintendent
St. James-Assiniboia School Division
