Sansome students have some great musical opportunities coming up! Thanks to the Winnipeg Symphony Orchestra and their Education and Outreach programs, our students will get a chance to listen to live orchestral musicians a couple of times in the month of October.

On October 4th, rooms 27, 10, 23 and 28 are going to walk over to Westwood Collegiate where the entire Winnipeg Symphony Orchestra will be performing a 1 hour concert for students in the Westwood area. Students have been learning about the 4 instrument families in the orchestra: String, Woodwind, Brass and Percussion. Mrs. Moses even brought in her French Horn to show the students. It is part of the Brass family of instruments. Students are excited to see these instruments played live and hear a full symphony orchestra, what a treat!

On October 19th, we are fortunate enough to have 5 Winnipeg Symphony Orchestra musicians coming to play for all the students at Sansome School, right in our very own gym. The 5 musicians will all be playing string instruments, so there will be violinists, a viola, a cello and a double bass player. This promises to be an educational and enriching experience for all the students at our school!
