WHAT IS OUTDOOR CLASSROOM DAY?
Our Grades K- 3 classrooms will be participating in series of Outdoor Classroom Days this year. Our first Outdoor Classroom Day will be held on Thursday, October 12.
Outdoor Classroom Day is a global campaign to celebrate and inspire outdoor learning and play. On this day, thousands of schools around the world take lessons outdoors and prioritise playtime. Our students will be participating in a variety of outdoor activities that connect to our Language Arts, Science, Math and Phys.Ed curriculums.
Why have outdoor classroom days? Outdoor learning improves children’s health, engages them with learning and leads to a greater connection with nature. Play not only teaches critical life skills such as resilience, teamwork and creativity, but is central to children’s enjoyment of childhood.
Be sure to dress appropriatelty for the weather.
