The St. James-Assiniboia School Division Board Office welcomed the spirit of competition to its backyard as the first X- Cross Country Ski race took place on Wednesday, February 26. Bannatyne, Phoenix, Heritage, Robert Browning, Crestview, Sansome, Athlone, Strathmillan, Buchanan, and Stevenson all brought their A-game to the competition. With a freshly blazed trail, made by none other than our very own J. J. Ross, St. James-Assiniboia PE/HE Coordinator, the schools battled it out to see who could complete as many turns around the course as possible in 45 minutes.

"The idea of bringing students together to share the love of cross country skiing was the vision of Derek Bramadat and we are happy to carry the torch forward," said J. J. Ross. "Cross Country skiing is such a perfect way to enjoy Winnipeg weather and stay active after students leave our care in the St. James-Assiniboia School division. It is great to see all these students giving their all."

With so many smiling faces and rosy cheeks, the students had a great time on a beautiful sunny Winnipeg winter day.
