On Sunday, June 10, the Sturgeon Heights Huskies captured the Harry Nightingale Manitoba Lacrosse Provincial Championship. This marks the first time the school has won both the league and provincial championship in the same year.
Throughout the provincial tournament, the Huskies did not allow a single goal to be scored against them. The championship game took place at John Forsyth Park against West Kildonan Collegiate. West Kildonan was the only team who beat the Huskies during the regular season, however that was not the case in the Provincial final. The Huskies played their best game of the entire season to win the championship game 11-0. Congratulations to all of the players and coaches who worked extremely hard this season to grow as a team and in turn, bring home both banners! Way to go, Huskies!
