We're excited to share information about an upcoming t‑shirt sale to fundraise and raise awareness in support of Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women, Girls, and Two‑Spirit People (MMIWG2S+).

The t‑shirt design features original artwork created by a high school student from Westwood Collegiate! Students from our high schools generously contributed their artwork to support this initiative, and the chosen winner's piece is on the t-shirt. The artwork reflects themes of respect, hope, and advocacy, and we are proud to highlight student creativity in a meaningful, educational way. Other artwork pieces will be turned into stickers that we will be selling at the graduation powwow on May 28th. All of the original art pieces will be on display at the powwow!

The t‑shirt sale is scheduled to run from Tuesday, April 21 to Friday, May 1. All proceeds will be directed toward Morgan's Warriors, a grassroots organization that supports the work of MMIW. Manitoba Missing Person Alerts | Morgan's Warriors .This fundraiser aligns with SJASD’s commitment to reconciliation and fostering social responsibility among our staff and students. Please note, chances are good that the orders will NOT come in time for May 5th MMIW day, but that's ok! We want to see people wearing them throughout the year; this is not an issue that is relegated to one day a year. Wearing shirts like this keeps it present in everyone's minds!
