Calling all crocheters and knitters at Golden Gate
Grade 7 student Maya C. wanted to start the club for students to practice their knitting skills, or learn how to knit for the first time, because "it's fun and you can make friends."
With support from Ms. Dirks, Mrs. Nowosad, Mme. Cliteur and Ms. Moskal, the club quickly expanded to include crocheting, loom knitting and pompom making.
The team is thankful for the support of the Healthy Together Now program, which has helped fund supplies for the club. All items created by the Yarn Club will be donated to the Bear Clan Patrol to help Winnipeggers who need a little extra warmth in the winter. Maya said, "The group is going pretty good... mostly beginners are coming."
