Caregivers Invited to ADHD Workshop

April 11, 2024

ADHDWorkshop_Insta.jpgEducational Support Services (ESS) is hosting a free, virtual workshop on Tuesday, April 23, 2024 for caregivers that know or suspect their child has Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHS). The workshop takes place from 6:15 p.m. to 7:15 p.m.. All SJASD caregivers with interests in this area are encouraged to sign up.

Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) is a chronic condition that affects millions of children and often continues into adulthood. ADHD includes a combination of challenges, such as difficulty sustaining attention, hyperactivity, and impulsive behavior. Children and adolescents with ADHD may also struggle with low self-esteem, school anxiety, troubled relationships, and poor performance in school.

The workshop, entitled How to Support Your Child with ADHD, covers information on assessment, strategies, and interventions to set your child or teen up for success at school and beyond.

To register, please email Debbie Neufeld. The workshop will take place on TEAMS and a link will be sent a few days before the workshop.

This workshop is part of the Staying Well Workshop Series hosted by ESS that supports the mental health and wellbeing of students and their families.
Supporting Mental Health and Wellbeing is a key priority in SJASD's Strategic Plan.

Did you know that you can access SJASD's six previous Staying Well Workshops? Topics covered include dyslexia, stress, anxiety, resilience and helping students with academic achievement. Go to sjasd.ca/Programs/ESS/StayingWell or visit our YouTube Channel Staying Well Playlist.
