​It is with great fanfare and fireworks that we announce that this month’s band student of the month is Jack Smith.

Jack is a super talented trombonist that acts as an anchor to our wonderful trombone section in symphonic band.  And as if that is not enough, he is also a member of the Warriors Jazz Band where he tackles a huge chunk of our trombone solos.  Not to mention,  he is a wonderful vocalist in both concert choir and vocal jazz where most recently he performed a solo at the vocal jazz coffee house. 

Besides all of that awesomeness, Jack is just a really nice person who always sems to have a smile on his face and some insight into our music to offer the class.  We are super proud of Jack and all of his musical accomplishments this year.  That said, if you did not get a chance to catch his trombone solo during Warrior Jazz’s performance of St. Louis Blues at the Brandon Jazz Festival, you really missed something.  He was on fire and the audience and adjudicators responded with thunderous applause at the end of it. We’re pretty sure he was signing autographs after the performance.​
