December’s Artist of the Month is the wonderful Caitlin T. Caitlin is having a smashing start to her Westwood Career and is absolutely killing it in the band world. Although Caitlin is only in grade 9, she has stepped up and become a major part of our program in just a few short months. She holds down the bari sax part in our advanced jazz band (little tykes jazz orchestra) and, at the same time, she is also the piano player with our beginning ensemble, the Westwood B.I.G. Band. In order for her to be in two jazz ensembles, she had to volunteer completely for one of them. In concert band she volunteered to switch to the bari sax part from Bass Clarinet and, due to her obvious skill set, she has been asked to perform with the symphonic band at our concert coming up February 7th. Not only is she super talented; she is also an extreme pleasure to work with. Caitlin has an infectious smile that brightens every single room she enters, and she makes everyone’s day a bit brighter. We are super proud of all the things she does to support our program. Keep an eye out for this one, she is a major part of the success of every ensemble that she is in. Congratulations Caitlin!
