How do I know if my child is eligible to attend Kindergarten?
All children registering for Kindergarten must be five years old by December 31, 2021 (born in 2016) in order to register for Kindergarten starting in September 2021.
How do I know if Athlone School is my catchment area school?
All students must register at their catchment area school.

How do I register my child for Kindergarten?
Step 1:
Download a copy of the registration form for Athlone School at:

Paper copies are also available upon request by contacting the school at 204-832-1373
Step 2:
Email your completed registration form to the school office at athlone@sjasd.ca on or after February 8, 2021. A confirmation email will be sent to you indicating that your registration form has been received.
or
Call the school office before, on or after February 8, 2021 at 204-832-1373. An appointment will be set up for you to drop off the paper copy of your registration form on February 8th. Registration forms can also be returned by siblings of students who currently attend Athlone.

Please note that the following documentation is required for final approval of registration.
- Birth Certificate
- If your child is not born in Canada, you will be required to provide citizenship papers or one of the following documents: Permanent Resident card, Record of Landing, Valid Work Permit/Visa, Valid Study Permit
- Manitoba Health card showing child & parent names
- 2 Proofs of Residency (eg. MB medical card, valid Manitoba driver's license, lease agreement, house title or other official documents indicating address of residence.)
Parents may choose to submit copies of this required documentation if they are submitting a hard copy registration form to the office. They will be contacted at a later date to confirm this documentation.

Parents may indicate a preference for AM or PM kindergarten. Please note that a preference does not guarantee a particular placement. School administration will contact families to advise of class placements once all registration forms have been reviewed and processed. If space is limited, registrations that are indicating preference of AM or PM Kindergarten will be determined by a lottery process.
How do I express my interest to possibly attend a different school that is not my catchment area school?
All students must first register at their catchment area school.
If a family wishes to express their interest to attend a school in SJASD out of their catchment area and live in the SJASD, they may indicate their interest by completing the online form at the following divisional link:
