Halloween at Sansome School is fast approaching. Students are allowed to wear their costumes during the afternoon of Thursday, October 31st and will be provided with time to change into their costumes just after our lunchtime recess and prior to our annual Halloween Costume Parade which happens at 1:30 PM in the gym. All parents and family members are invited to join us for this event. Morning Kindergarten students are welcome to dress up for the entire morning and will be taken on a tour through all classrooms. Please consider the following expectations should you choose to send your child to school with a Halloween costume:

- Masks must be easily removable to ensure we can identify students quickly.

- Costumes should not hinder your child's ability to participate in activities and/or make it unsafe to move throughout our halls and stairways.

- Face paint can be applied in the morning at home and worn for the duration of the day.

- Costumes that depict violence, alcohol or drugs are not permitted.

- Fake weapons are to be left at home.

- Offensive costumes that perpetuate a stereotype of someone's culture, heritage or religion are not allowed.

Students wearing questionable costumes will be asked to change for the remainder of the day. If you have any questions regarding the appropriateness of your costume idea, please contact your child's teacher or Mr. Lizotte in the office.
