January Information for Crestview Families

January 07, 2022

Dear Crestview Families:

Welcome back to school whether you are attending online or in person, the teachers are ready to welcome you on Monday, January 10.

Classroom teachers have communicated with their remote students plans for next week.  Just so parents are aware, Manitoba Education Standards for Remote Learning require students to be available for real time online learning (synchronous-online classroom) in grades 1-5 for five to six hours per week.

Independent work that these students will complete at home will be for 2.5 hours per day.

Kindergarten students will engage in one-two hours per day of play-based learning. The kindergarten teachers will connect with students and their parents/caregivers a minimum of once per week.

COVID -19 Rapid Antigen Kits (RAT kits) have been provided for our students.  Each student will receive a kit.  Some families have already received a kit over the Christmas Break on January 4.

Kits for our in-school students will be sent home on Monday, January 10 at the end of the day.

School age children from the Daycares that are attending in school learning will get their kits at the end of the day Monday.

The rest of our remote families may pick up their kit via the staff parking lot door on Monday from 1:00-4:00 pm .  Please call the school 204 885-7710 and someone will give you your family’s kit at the door.

Those parents who have indicated that their child requires an iPad (we have a limited number, one per family) . You may pick these up at the front office Monday after 9:15, as there is paperwork to complete.  Your “RAT”  kit will be available for you at that time.
