SarahIMG_6573 (1).jpgLakewood is an Early Years School (Kindergarten - Grade 5) located in the St. James-Assiniboia School Division in Winnipeg, Manitoba..

At Lakewood School, our focus is on our students. We believe that our students are at the heart of the decisions and choices that we make each day. We make it a priority to ensure that our students are safe, supported, respected, and happy members of the Lakewood School learning community. When our students feel a positive connection to our school, they are ready to learn and strive for their personal best.

Our commitment at Lakewood School is to teach our students in a learning community that will empower them to become innovative thinkers, creative problem solvers and lifelong, independent learners prepared to succeed in an "ever-changing world". High expectations for each student in regard to their academic performance, co-curricular participation and responsible citizenship are key factors that make Lakewood School a successful learning community. Every member of our staff is committed to providing the highest quality education. At Lakewood, we embrace and celebrate each student's unique contributions, and inspire each student to thrive academically, socially, and emotionally. Our instructional program uses a variety of strategies and methods to ensure that every child is given the opportunity to succeed.

We believe that our parent community is an equally important part of the success of our students at Lakewood School. We consider the parents and guardians of our students to be significant partners in the daily learning activities and school experiences of their children; we encourage parents to talk with their children about their learning and to openly communicate with their child's teachers. Parents can also connect with the school by being active members of the Lakewood Parent Council or by volunteering in the school, attending sporting, musical and artistic events, or by participating in student-led conferences.
