On April 18th and April 20th, our divisional Indigenous educator, Richelle Northstar Scott, will be leading grade-level meetings to bring awareness to and education on the Indigenous tradition of smudging. Students who have brought in their permission forms will have the opportunity to smudge with her following the grade-level meetings. Once these lessons have taken place, our intention is to make smudging a regular opportunity for Lincoln students and staff who wish to participate.
Please see the attached letter for further information as well as the attached permission slip required for your child to participate in smudging. Printed copies of this permission form will also be made available for students next week. Completed permission slips are to be returned to your child’s homeroom teachers by Thursday, April 13th.
