Pink Shirt Day

March 12, 2018
Pink Shirt Day.jpgThe first official Pink Day for 2018 was held on February 28th and many students wore pink to take a stand up to bullies! Pink Day is now a Red Cross initiative that was originally started in 2007 by two Nova Scotia high school students while trying to take a stand against bullying. It's a day where we stand united to try to put a stop to bullying that occurs across the country. The Canadian Red Cross, as well as we at Lincoln Middle School, believe that every child should be treated with respect. As a national leader in violence, abuse and bullying prevention, the Red Cross works with students and educators across Manitoba and Nunavut. As part of its bullying prevention programming, the Canadian Red Cross leads the support of Pink Day in both Manitoba and Nunavut for schools and workplaces.

Remember, when you stand up to bullying, you can #BeSomeonesHero.
