School attendance is a critical factor to a productive and successful school career. All schools in St. James-Assiniboia actively promote and encourage 100 per cent attendance for all our students. We encourage parents/caregivers to be actively involved in promoting their child’s attendance at school.
What if my child will be absent from school?
If your child is sick and will be absent from school, we request that parents contact the school by phone to advise the office of their child's absence. If you are calling outside of normal office hours, please leave a message on the school's answering machine.
What if my child will be arriving late for school?
If your child will be arriving late for school, we once again request that parents contact the school by phone to advise the office that their child will be arriving late.
Between 8:45-9:30 am and 12:45-1:30 pm every day, the school will contact parents of any absent students for whom the school has not received a phone call indicating their child will be absent. Of course, we'd prefer to keep call backs to a minimum and would greatly appreciate it if parents contact the school by phone if their child will be absent.
