Principal's Message
βGreetings Gators, we are glad you are here!β
It is my honor to share my days with these Gators, and to learn and lead alongside an incredible team of educators at Golden Gate Middle School. Know that your child is surrounded by educators with an energy and commitment to grow our learners into kind, compassionate, and curious humans. We believe strongly in creating learning spaces where all students are connected and belong. We embrace the diversity of our learning community, and actively work toward reconciliation. We are committed to this community and building relationships to move us forward. We strive each day to create safe and respectful learning spaces filled with authentic and engaging learning experiences for each student.
β
βWe expect our students to be a part of this community, one where we are good people first! Gators ensure their actions are both respectful and responsible, that their choices help others to feel safe and belong, that they contribute to a healthy and vibrant school, and that they show up each day on time and ready to learn. We encourage Gators to make mistakes, as that means they are taking risks in their learning. Mistakes are how we grow, and how we learn to do better each day. We will help learners to achieve, to become more independent, and to persevere when things are challenging. We are always here to support! Middle school is truly a unique time for youth to discover more about themselves. Being a Gator means students will continue to understand who they are as an individual, how they learn, and to imagine how their learning begins to connect them and their gifts to the world around them.
We are working to strengthen our community connections and invite your celebrations, inquiries, and feedback. If you have questions regarding your child's learning, please connect first with the teacher. Ms. Wilson, our Vice Principal, and I look forward to connecting with you and invite you to call, email, or set up a time to meet with us in the weeks ahead.
GO GATORS!
Ms. J. O'Brien (she/her)
