As principal, it is my honour and privilege to welcome students and families to St. James Collegiate, a proud UNESCO school situated on Treaty 1 territory. At St. James, we believe in fostering a school community where every student feels connected, engaged, valued, and empowered to give back, both locally and globally, in a meaningful way. Our commitment to student connection and support goes beyond the classroom; it’s about creating a supportive environment where each individual’s voice is heard and respected.  

Student engagement is at the heart of everything we do. We are very proud of our programming in technology, science, the arts and humanities, mathematics, athletics, vocational, and business education.​ We encourage our students to explore their passions, challenge themselves academically, and participate fully in the life of the school.

Inclusion and diversity are not just values we uphold—they are the foundation of our school culture. We are dedicated to ensuring that every student feels a sense of belonging and has the opportunity to thrive.

Our strong and active partnership with our parent community is an integral part in the success of our students. Our mission at St. James Collegiate is to provide students with practical, academic, and citizenship skills to succeed with creativity, compassion and knowledge in a global community. In keeping with principles of our school division’s strategic plan, we promote and value the principles of respect, integrity, responsibility and excellence – while promoting a school culture that understands and respects diverse values and world views. We strive to develop students who are open-minded, respectful, hard-working, caring and knowledgeable. In order to achieve our vision, we value establishing connections with our local and global community. We value diversity of people, perspectives, and opportunities.
