As Principal, it is my great honour to welcome students, parents and guardians to the St. James Collegiate family and I am personally committed to providing each student with the most positive and engaging high school experience possible!
When you walk into our building, there is a positive and welcoming atmosphere in our hallways and our classrooms. For our new students, the high school years will offer you the chance to forge friendships and generate memories that will last a lifetime.
Our strong and active partnership with our parent community is an integral part in the success of our students. I look forward to meeting with and working with our students and parents/guardians in the months ahead. Our doors are always open so please don’t hesitate to get in touch with your child’s teachers, my Vice Principal, Ms Jody O'Brien, or myself, if you have any questions or concerns over the course of the school year.
Our school provides an innovative and engaging academic program to meet the diverse needs, talents and interests of our students. We are very proud of our programming in technology, science, the arts and humanities, mathematics, athletics, vocational, business education and Advanced Placement.
Our enthusiastic, caring and dedicated staff work hard to help all of our students reach their academic and personal potential and provide the necessary foundation for the next stages of their lives after graduation – whether it may lead to post-secondary education or direct entry into the workforce. Students are encouraged to strive for excellence and to work to the best of their abilities to reach their academic goals within a safe and connected environment!
As a UNESCO school, we take seriously the values of peace, social justice and global citizenship and provide a multitude of opportunities for students to “give back” both locally and globally, within a strong and committed student leadership team and student body who promote and participate in a caring school culture of social justice themed events and activities.
