​This year's Grad 2026 Convocation, Dinner and Safe Grad will be on Wednesday, June 24th at the Victoria Inn & Convention Centre, Wellington Ballroom, 1808 Wellington Avenue.

Convocation: 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. in the Wellington Ballroom. Grads must arrive between 9:00 a.m. and 9:15 a.m. wearing their caps and gowns in order to line up and prepare to cross the stage. 

Grads will check in at the Carlton Room and guests can line up at the entrance to the Wellington Room and wait for the doors to open at 9:30 a.m. Seating for guests is first come, first served as seating is limited. There will be a live stream for those who are unable to attend.

Grad Dinner: 5:30 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. in the South Centennial Room. Doors open at 5:30 p.m. and dinner is served at 6:00 p.m. Tickets will go on sale TBD. Price is TBD for an adult meal and TBD for a children's meal (12 and under). Table reservations will be on a first come, first served basis during TBD.

The evening includes a 3-course dinner, speeches, photo opportunities, beverages (non-alcoholic only) and dancing (if time permits).

  • 2026 SAFE GRAD – A night to celebrate safely

    10:00 p.m. – 2:30 a.m. | Victoria Inn

    SAFE GRAD is a parent-led, themed celebration designed to give our graduates a memorable and SAFE way to mark this important milestone. SAFE GRAD is an established tradition across Manitoba high schools and provides students with a safe environment to celebrate with friends.

    This year's event will include music, dancing, snacks, beverages, and a variety of activities to keep the night fun, engaging, and safe.
    School staff are NOT in attendance.

    Guest Information

    Graduates may purchase tickets for themselves and up to two guests. Guests must be between the ages of 15 and 21.

    Activities and Entertainment

    Planned activities for the evening include:

    • Bouncy Castle Obstacle Course
    • Slush Machine
    • DJ and Dance 
    • Photo Booth
    • Snacks, pop, and a candy buffet

    Additional activities may be added as planning and fundraising continues.

    Beverages

    Non-alcoholic beverages will be included for all attendees. 
    Alcoholic beverages will be available for purchase. Alcoholic beverages may only be served to, and consumed by, graduates and guests who are 18+ 
    A Government issue photo ID is required. 

    Safe Ride Home Requirement

    A pre-arranged adult must pick up each student at the end of the event. SAFE GRAD facilitators will contact the designated adult when it is time for pickup.
    Permission forms for graduates and guests must be submitted at the time of ticket purchase and the SAFE DRIVER must be determined at this time. 
    Attendees are NOT permitted to drive themselves home under any circumstances.

    Safe Grad Parent Committee

    SAFE GRAD is organized and run by parent volunteers, and planning is a significant undertaking. Parents/guardians and students are encouraged to get involved throughout the school year to help ensure a successful, safe, and enjoyable celebration.

    If you are interested in supporting Safe Grad but cannot attend meetings, please email leah.madrid@sjasd.ca to join the Safe Grad email list and stay informed about ways to help.

Grad Rehearsal: Monday, June 22nd at 10:00 a.m. in the high school gym. All students must attend. Caps and gowns will be handed out at this time.

Grad Walk: June - TBD

Valedictorian: Applications are due by TBD.

Volunteer Hours: Volunteer hours are no longer required​ in order to receive the SJASD diploma or SJASD scholarships. However, students are encouraged to continue to collect and submit hours for outside scholarships which may require volunteering.​​​​​​
