BMS Community Walk for Winnipeg Harvest

The Grade 7 students at Bruce Middle School are participating in Winnipeg Harvest's 'Empty Bowl Project' during the month of May.  Our goal as a school, is to raise awareness for poverty in our communities as well as globally.  We will set a goal to gather collections of non-perishable food items and to raise funds to donate to Winnipeg Harvest.

In order to accomplish this goal during the month of May, the Grade 7 team will do extensive research about poverty on a global scale.  We plan to raise funds and collect non perishable food items by selling tickets to 'Pie the Teacher'! Every toonie or non-perishable item brought in for the cause, gets you a single ticket to enter the draw to pie the teacher of your choice in the face!

We will be visiting homes in our surrounding Bruce Middle School community on separate occasions; the first time being Thursday, May 2nd and we will be dropping off a flyer which asks families if they have any non-perishable food item donations for our cause.  The second time we will visit those same homes on Wednesday May 8th between 11:05-12:25 to collect their donations which we hope they leave out for us.
