Hello Bruce Families!

We hope you have had the chance to enjoy the fading fall weather, it looks like that will change this week. Please make sure your child is dressed warmly as we will continue to be outside for lunch recess.

Our Winnipeg Jets Hockey Academy program begins their on-ice practices on Wednesday and the after-school program begins on Friday. The after-school portion finishes at 7pm.

Each year, the Bruce school community in coordination with Sturgeon Heights Collegiate, organizes food hampers for several families in our catchment. While we use our knowledge of our community to provide this service to families in need, we realize that inflation, high interest rates, leftover effects from the pandemic and other factors have made the need greater than ever before. We are confident that there are other families who may need assistance in the coming months that we do not know of. If you would like to be considered for a holiday hamper this year, please fill out the following confidential form.

And speaking of hampers, we will be collecting full cereal boxes again on behalf of all St. James Assiniboia schools. Our collection of cereal will be combined with donations of other food items from around the division to make generous holiday hampers. We will be collecting cereal throughout the month of November.

We are reaching out to our community to see if there is anyone interested in doing a short speech or presentation to the school for our Remembrance Day ceremony. If you would like to participate, please contact Mrs. Cantafio at the school (204-888-1990)
