Friday February 6th day 5 

Timetable Changes – Any students in need of timetable changes need to have their name on the list in the office by noon today.

Poland - Anyone interested in signing up for the Poland 2027 Trip are encouraged to see Mr. Hiebert ASAP, as spaces are limited. You don't want to miss out on this life changing experience through some of the oldest market squares, beautiful architecture, and so much more. Stop by room 217 to see how you can secure your spot!

For the Love of Reading - The library is once again hosting The Reading Challenge this February. Simply read three books of your choice this month. Pick up a contest form from the library, fill it out, and return it to Mrs. Lontajo for a chance to win a prize. The draw will take place on Friday, February 27th, and three lucky winners will be selected.

Registration - Registration forms for our current grade 9, 10 and 11's are due back by Feb 11th at the latest.

Valorant - There will be a Valorant team info meeting Tuesday at lunch for anyone that is interested in joining in room 119 (Mr. Donohoe's room).

Yearbooks - If you are wanting to order a yearbook for this year and have not already done so, these orders are due through cash-online by February 10. After that date, you will no longer be able to order a yearbook from the 2025-26 school year.

Girls Hockey - Any grade 9 or 10 female hockey players interested in playing the Women's High School hockey league's rookie showcase can see Ms. Thiessen in room 113 for more information.

Rainbow Lounge - There will be a Rainbow Lounge meeting on Monday February 9 at lunch in the drama room. All are welcome.

Westwood Weekly - The Westwood Weekly Is looking for a Video Editor. If you want more information, come to room 210 or email Joshua or Mishka.

Candygrams - Do you want to send a gift to a friend, teacher, or someone special this Valentine's Day? Student Council is selling candy grams at lunch this week for $2 each, cash or credit. Stop by the front of the office from February 3rd to 6th! Each candy gram comes with Valentine's Day themed treats, and a customizable note…sent anonymously or signed. They will be delivered closer to Valentine's Day.

Mascots - Do you want to help name Westwood's mascot? Student Council has opened a poll to name our otter mascot. Visit wwc.2026 on Instagram and scan the QR code to submit your ideas before this Friday, February 6th. The winning name will be announced at next Friday's Pep Rally. 

Matchmakers - Did you complete the Matchmaker survey? Purchase your results in front of the office at lunch this week, for $2 each. Cash and credit are accepted. Every Matchmaker and Candy Gram purchased this week are worth 20 Grade Wars points each! Let's get those points up for second semester!

Jazz Café - Please join us on February 12th for our annual Jazz Cafe in the choral room! The talented vocal jazz students are presenting jazz solos and duets. There will be two shows that evening, one at 6:15 and another at 8:00. Tickets are $5 for students, $10 for adults, and are available at the door. Coffee, tea and treats are included in the ticket price!!

Flag Football – Westwood will once again be competing in Girls Flag Football this spring season! Tryouts will take place at the beginning of March. Any girls in Grades 9-12 who are interested in trying out, can sign up with Ms. Warner in Room 121. No experience necessary!

Thursday February 5th Day 4 

Grad Hoodies – Grads that need to pick up their re-issued hoodies, can do so Thursday at lunch outside of Ms. E's room.

Krispy Kreme Fundraiser – The Krispy Kreme Donut Fundraiser will be delivered today! All students who ordered Krispy Kreme are asked to pick up their donuts after school today in room 124.  Donut distribution will take place between 3:30 – 4:30. All students MUST DELIVER their donuts to their customers today once they receive the product.

​Gym Riot - Check out the Student Council bulletin board near the front office to find out which Gym Riot team you are on and see how your grade is doing in the Grade Wars points competition!
