Taya B, Delaney G, Neve P and Vayda S

Congratulations to Taya, Delaney, Neve and Vayda on being selected as Westwood’s Athletes of the Month. These 4 grade 9 girls made up our JVG Girls Cross Country team and also competed on our JV and Grade 9 girls volleyball teams. Vayda and Delaney are also on our girl’s indoor soccer team. In 3 West Winnipeg Athletic Conference 3km races, Neve finished 3rd, 6th and 4th – Delaney finished 6th, 10th and 10th – Vayda finished 7th, 13th and 9th – Taya finished 17th, 24th and 21st. These great individual results helped the team earn 2nd place in the WWAC JVG Category. “It was awesome to see such a great group of keen a dedicated Grade 9 athletes,” said coach Sdrolias. “These multi-sport athletes are exactly the type of well-rounded student that Westwood Athletics is excited to have a part of their programs. It will be fun to see what this group can accomplish individually and as a group in the next few years.". The JV girl’s volleyball team that Delaney and Neve were a part of (also coached by Mr. Sdrolias) finished 3rd in the MHSAA AAAA Provincials. Westwood Athletics is thrilled to have Taya, Delaney, Neve and Vayda continue to be part of our programs for the next 4 years! Great job girls and be proud of your well deserved recognition!​
