Literacy: This year's focus is to increase student proficiency in word and sound recognition in English and French.​

Numeracy: This year's focus is for students to further their understanding of the big ideas in subtraction which are: take-away (removal), comparison (difference), and part-whole (finding a missing part).​

Indigenous-Inclusive Education: École Assiniboine is committed to provide important shared learning experiences and embed Indigenous Teachings such as Smudging, Beading, Ribbon Skirt Teachings, Star Blanket Teachings, Fire Teachings, Tipi Teachings and Elder Teachings into rich tasks, encouraging student opportunity to discuss and build on their learning. ​​​​​​
