This year we will be hosting a "Colour Run" Fundraiser for École Assiniboine and the École Assiniboine Parent Council June 13th at 2 pm on our field. Like past fundraising events, students are asked to raise funds to help subsidize costs of activities that take place in our school. This year, we will also be donating a portion (up to $2500) to Parent Council to help with playground enhancement projects.
Our goal is to have fun and exercise in the spirit of fundraising. For each lap completed, students will get sprayed with coloured water (safe and non-toxic). This event is similar to Colour Me Rad events held throughout the city. Students will try to collect as many colours as possible while running/walking on the track. The fundraising part comes in where kids ask friends/family to donate to help support our school. We are asking that you use the School Cash Online on the link provided to enter your donation. Our goal is to beat our total of the first Colour Run which was about $4700. If you wish to make a cash donation, please send the donation to your child's homeroom teacher before June 13th, 2019. Feel free to share the link with family and friends. Morning Kindergarten students are welcome to attend the afternoon event provided they are supervised by family or daycare.
This is a fun event, but it will be messy! Children who do not wish to participate in getting messy can still take part as we will have an alternative to having colour sprayed on them by staff. We ask that participating students bring clothing that can get dirty and/or permanently stained. A white or light coloured t-shirt is best. We also ask that students bring a change of clothing and a plastic bag that they can put their clothes into once we are done. Students should also bring sunglasses, hats, a water bottle and sunscreen. The more colourful the outfit the better! Families are invited to come out and enjoy this fun activity with our students!
