There is a division wide 'Ink work' contest called INKtober! This is for ALL students. John Taylor will be hosting our own in-school Ink contest which will run at the same time! | The University of British Columbia offers a substantial $80,000 “Beyond Tomorrow Scholars" award for students who self-identify as African, African-American, African-Canadian, or Afro-Caribbean. The deadline for applications is December 1st. Please see Mrs. Brophy for more information. |
| Any grade 11 or 12 students interested in studying Engineering at the University of Manitoba and who are interested in visiting the faculty to learn more about their Engineering program are invited to sign up in the office. Please note that students must be taking Physics, Chemistry and Pre-cal Math to be eligible for the Engineering program at U of M. |
| If you are an Indigenous Student who is interested in attending the Manito Ahbee NextGen Youth Empowerment Event on October 30th, please see Ms. Peters or pick up a permission form in the office. The first 30 permission forms to come in will attend! |
| Are you interested in finding an after-school job? Join JT's Fall Job Seekers Club where you will receive small group support to put together your resume and cover letter and discuss how to find job opportunities in our community. If interested, please sign up in the office for the Oct 26, afternoon sessions in the library. |
| Grade 11 and 12 students who are interested in attending the post-secondary institutions' fall open house events this year are encouraged to check the dates posted on our school website as well as the various universities' websites for further information and registration. Students are encouraged to attend with their parent/ guardian. The University of Manitoba's Fall Open House is on Tuesday, October 27th and the University of Winnipeg's Future Student Night is on Tuesday Nov 24, 2026. CMU's next Discovery Day is October 30th. |
| The University of Manitoba will be presenting to grade 11 and 12 students on Thursday, October 29, period 2 in the theatre. All grade 11 students are encouraged to attend this presentation. Any grade 12 students who are interested in attending U of M or who did not attend this presentation last year, are also encouraged to attend. |
