    Adventure in Citizenship

    Are you a St. James-Assiniboia high school student aged 16 to 18 years old (as of May 24, 2026)? Do you have an interest in the Canadian democratic system with a desire to learn more? Do you love to travel?
    Then the 75th Rotary ‘Adventure in Citizenship’ in Ottawa may just be the ticket! The St. James-Assiniboia School Division along with the Rotary clubs of Winnipeg West and Ottawa will be awarding a fully funded trip for one student to ‘Adventure in Citizenship’ in Ottawa May 24-27 (complete travel dates and itinerary to be determined).
    The Rotary Club of Winnipeg West will cover the registration, and the air travel expenses to and from Ottawa. The Rotary Club of Ottawa provides all local travel, accommodations, meals, and hospitality. Travel itinerary to be determined.
    To be considered, please submit your written essay responding to the following questions (attached) by March 12th, 2026

    Schedule Your Photo Appointment: Book online for your designated school dates. Simply search by your schools Postal Code: R2Y 0H4, enter your schools name, and enter your name as it appears in the school’s records. If your name doesn’t appear, please contact Customer Service at 1-888-676-1647 for assistance.

    *All Graduates will get their photo taken for the composite that will hang proudly in the JTC halls for years to come. If a Graduate does not want to pay the $35 sitting fee that includes multiple poses/ does not have an appointment booked, they will still be asked to take the free composite photo on April 6th or 7th.
    Location: Photos will be taken in Room 314
    Arrival Time: Please arrive 10 minutes before your scheduled appointment.

    Contemporary Poses:
    You can include contemporary poses, which are casual shots of the graduate only.
    **Note: Due to allergies, animals are not permitted at any grad ph​oto sessions**

  • Safe Drop off/ Pick Up Zones

    Safe Drop off/ Pick Up Zones

    Please do not enter the Staff Parking Lot (highlighted in red) from 8:00AM to 9:00AM or 3:00PM to 4:00PM.  Stopping in these areas, even for a few seconds, can put our students at risk, as it adds to congestion.
    As you will note on the map, Hamilton and Knox are located right near the school & allow for good flow of traffic for student drop-offs.
