Today is the National Day to honor and remember all the Murdered and Missing Indigenous Women, Girls and Two Spirit people. We affirm that the lives of all of our community members matter and we support families in their calls for justice. All students are encouraged to visit the website teachthegenocide.ca created by the Native Women’s Association of Canada to learn more about the seriousness of this crisis.

Fundraising for Grad  

Don’t forget to get your tickets to the Winnipeg Sea Bears game!   

You can support Grad 2026 by purchasing tickets to one or all of the May 16, May 22, and June 12 games.  More information is on our website or can be found on the posters around our school.   

Miscellaneous 

Calling all Makers! Rock the Heights is once again hosting a Maker's Market at this year's festival on May 29. If you are interested in selling your creations at this event please see Mrs. Vidal in room 2A5 for more information.   

Bike Cage 

To keep equipment secure, the bike cage will be locked daily at 8:45 a.m. (9:15 a.m. on Tuesdays) and reopened at 3:25 p.m. (2:35 p.m. on early dismissals) starting on Monday, May 11, 2026. 

Please note, staff are unable to unlock the cage during school hours unless there is an emergency. We highly recommend using a personal lock even when inside the cage. Please remember that the school is not responsible for any personal items left in the enclosure.

Blood Donor Shuttle Announcement 

Sturgeon Heights will be running the final Blood Donation Shuttles on Friday, May 8 in at Canadian Blood Services at: 9:00 AM, 10:30 AM. 12:00 PM. 

All participating students will be excused from morning classes, get a free snack, hop on the bus to Canadian Blood Services to Save Lifes and receive a blood donor card with your blood type in the mail. 

Deadline to sign up is tomorrow Tuesday, May 5. Please see Ms. Blankenborg in Room 2E4, or Mr. Metcalfe in the gym for permission forms. 

All Donors who have signed up to donate blood MUST attend a mandatory brief meeting on Wednesday, May 6 at 12:10pm in room 2E4.

Appel à tous les bricoleurs! Rock the Heights organise à nouveau un marché des bricoleurs lors du festival de cette année le 29 mai. Si vous êtes intéressé à vendre vos créations lors de cet événement, veuillez voir Mme Vidal dans la salle 2A5 pour plus d'informations.

Salon de l'emploi et du camionnage du Manitoba 

Si une carrière dans l'industrie du camionnage vous intéresse, venez parler à Mme Vermesse pour en savoir plus sur leur salon de l'emploi et leur exposition commerciale. 

La navette de don du sang  

Sturgeon Heights organisera les dernières navettes de don de sang le vendredi 8 mai au Services de Sang du Canada à : 9h00, 10h30, 12h00.  

Tous les élèves participants seront dispensés des cours du matin, recevront une collation gratuite, monteront dans le bus pour se rendre aux Services de Sang du Canada afin de sauver des vies et recevront une carte de donneur de sang avec leur groupe sanguin par courrier. Veuillez voir Mme Blankenborg dans la salle 2E4, ou M. Metcalfe dans le gymnase pour les formulaires d'autorisation. 

Tous les donneurs qui se sont inscrits pour donner du sang DOIVENT assister à une réunion brève obligatoire demain à 12h10 dans la salle 2E4. 

Du bénévolat à l’École Assiniboine 

L’École Assiniboine a besoin de bénévoles pour leurs activités, le 11 juin de 16h30 à 19h00. La pizza sera servie au souper. Si vous êtes intéressé, contactez Mme Kagazo ou inscrivez votre nom au bureau.
