CSHC Graduation Awards and Scholarships

 

Collège Sturgeon Heights Collegiate Graduation Awards are presented at convocation, and students can nominate themselves for consideration. Applications are available through the website in April 2026. The awards committee (CSHC staff) meets to determine recipients.

 

There are scholarships and awards in the areas of:

1. Community and Citizenship

2. Leadership and Service

3. Academic Excellence and Specific Post-Secondary pathways.

4. Resilience

 

 

External Awards and Scholarships

There are 3 main types of external scholarships

  • General Entrance – Awarded based on a student's overall Grade 12 course grade average. No application is required.

 

  • Prestige – School Nominated – Awarded to students who demonstrate strong academic performance, significant extracurricular involvement, and proven leadership skills. Schools must nominate eligible students.

 

  • Endowed Scholarships –Awarded to students who meet specific criteria, which may include particular talents, geographic backgrounds, interests, or organizational affiliations. They often also require demonstrated academic achievement.

​Grade 12 students are invited to apply for St. James-Assiniboia Scholarship Foundation awards available this year. These scholarships support students pursuing
1.Aviation
2.Indigenous leadership
3.Education/childcare
4.Children from Immigrant Families

Applications are open until May 22 or May 30, 2026.
Students are encouraged to visit the school website for full application details before submitting their applications. If students need help, please send them to Ms. Blankenborg in Guidance.

Please see below a list of awards offered in St. James-Assiniboia School Division on behalf of contributions made to the St. James-Assiniboia Scholarship Foundation.
 DEADLINE for application: May 22-May 30, 2026
  1. Winnipeg Airport Authority Queen Elizabeth II Award
This award is presented to a St. James-Assiniboia School Division high school graduate continuing to post-secondary education in an aviation-related field.
Amount: $500
​Schools: This award is available to graduating students from all St James Assiniboia high schools. ​

  1. Indigenous Leadership Award
This award is presented annually to a self-identified Indigenous student graduating from any high school in St. James-Assiniboia School Division. The candidate must be pursuing post-secondary education, demonstrate community and volunteer work or extracurricular involvement as well as strength of character and fortitude. Regular attendance may be considered.
Amount: $1,000
School: Applications accepted from all high five schools, one annual recipient is chosen.
