Community Members Invited to Attend Reconciliation Event

August 25, 2023

Cadmus_event_Instagram.jpgAs part of SJASD's ongoing commitment to Truth and Reconciliation, the Division is inviting community members to attend Journey Toward Reconciliation, a free inspirational event on Tuesday, September 5, 2023 at 5:30 p.m. at Collège Sturgeon Heights Collegiate Theatre with the former chief of Cowessess First Nation, Cadmus Delorme.

Cadmus is a nationally recognized speaker on issues of reconciliation. On his own First Nation in Treaty 4 territory, 751 unmarked graves were discovered in June of 2021. Since this tragic discovery, Cadmus has been speaking out about the important role all Canadians play in the path toward truth and reconciliation and keeping the treaties alive in today's complex world.

This free event is for SJASD parents, business partners, and interested community members that want to be part of understanding Canada's true history and moving forward together.

It+ mirrors a similar reconciliation event with the former chief taking place for all SJASD staff earlier in the day. Registration Deadline has been extended to September 4, 2023 but space is limited, so sign up today. See Event Flyer.
