What is AP?
The College Board’s Advanced Placement Program (AP) encourages students to pursue University Level studies with the opportunity to earn University credit while still in High School. AP provides opportunities for motivated and prepared students to experience college-level courses while in high school, thereby fostering critical thinking and college persistence and success.
AP courses give students access to rigorous University level work but with the support of their High School teachers. Students build confidence and learn the essential time management and study skills that will assist them in their post-secondary studies. In addition, students have the opportunity to develop a deeper understanding of the subjects that interest them and develop their research and communication skills.
